A photograph has emerged of the scene right after a culinary student was allegedly stabbed by his friend at Lot One Shoppers's Mall in Choa Chu Kang. The incident happened at 9.30pm on Tuesday night outside the mall's McDonald's outlet.

In the photograph, taken by a Straits Times reader, the alleged attacker, only known as Yang, is seen in the foreground wearing a red t-shirt. He is seen bent over a pool of blood. The reader told The Straits Times that "Yang" was reportedly trying to retrieve a knife used in the alleged stabbing of his friend, Tan Zhi Long.

The victim, Mr Tan, is seen standing calmly in the background of this photograph, just metres away from his alleged attacker. He is using what appears to be a piece of tissue to control the bleeding which has stained his white bermudas.

Yang's girlfriend is also seen in the photograph in the foreground looking at her mobile phone. Mr Tan is in a stable condition and recovering at the National University Hospital. Yang, who is his course mate from hospitality school Shatec, has since been arrested.
