A lorry ploughed into a pedestrian walkway in Sengkang after being involved in an accident with another lorry. The crash resulted in partial road closures and the diversion of bus services. A woman in her 50s suffered minor injuries but did not want to be taken to hospital, said a Singapore Civil Defence Force spokesman. Police were alerted to the incident at the junction of Compassvale Street and Punggol Road at 12.36pm and they arrested the 59-year-old lorry driver. Bus services at stops affected by the accident resumed at about 4pm.
