The National Day Parade (NDP) this year will be 25 minutes longer than previous years. Audiences can also expect more interaction with show performers and more comedy during the pre-parade and nine segments of the show, which will take on a variety show format, said creative director of the NDP Selena Tan.

Highlights of the show include a human LED screen display, and extreme sportsman such as BMX bikers and skate boarders doing stunts. The theme of this year's show is Many Stories...One Singapore.

Chairman of NDP 2013 Show Commitee Colonel (COL) David Chua said he hopes that Singaporeans can see themselves in the stories that are presented and will realise that they, too, can "play a part to help make Singapore a place we can call home, from generation to generation, whatever our backgrounds, and wherever we come from".
