The 200 foreign workers due to receive police advisories at the Criminal Investigation Department for their involvement in the Little India riot started arriving at the Police Cantonment Complex at 10am on Sunday.
Most workers and their supervisors did not seem to know why they had to be there.
Mr Suresh Babu, 37, was at the complex to accompany his worker, Indian national Arumugan Thennappan, to receive the advisory.
"The police just told me to report here with my worker at 11 am. They did not explain why we have to come down," said Mr Suresh, an administrative manager at Bluesky Infratech.
He added that he was unsure of his worker's involvement in the riot. Of the 20 workers he supervises, only one was called up to report today, he said.
The 200 workers due to receive police advisories were deemed not to have committed any offence as their involvement was passive and incidental.
