Lights, music and dazzling action

JUGGLERS, gymnasts and martial arts performers made a colourful entrance in the first act of the ChildAid full-dress rehearsal at the Marina Bay Sands last night.

More than 160 young performers are gearing up to deliver a dazzling show at the annual charity concert tonight and tomorrow at the Sands Theatre.

In this carnival-themed edition, audience members can expect performances including medleys of popular songs such as Lady Gaga's Bad Romance and David Guetta's Titanium, and gravity-defying aerial acts by acrobats from Circus Swingapore.

In its ninth year, the annual concert raises money for The Straits Times School Pocket Money Fund, which gives needy students money for recess and transport, and The Business Times Budding Artists Fund, which funds training in the arts for talented but disadvantaged students.

Tickets, which start at $18, are still available from www.marinabaysands.com/ticketing. For more details, go to www.straitstimes.com/childaid or www.facebook.com/childaid
