SINGAPORE – Light To Night Singapore, the marquee event of Singapore Art Week, returns to the Civic District from Jan 17 to Feb 6.
Themed “Do You See Me?”, the 2025 edition of the well-loved festival spotlights visionary local artists and invites guests to “see and be seen”, exploring the diverse, multifaceted identities of our communities.
On the opening night on Jan 17, visitors gathered before Travelling Through The Tropical Rainforest, an installation by Singaporean sculptor Han Sai Por, at the Padang. Comprising six towering sculptural forms that evoke tropical palms, this artwork stands majestically against the city skyline.

Constructed from man-made materials, it reflects on the dynamic relationship between nature and urbanisation in a rapidly evolving cityscape. The supersized sculptures magnify the often overlooked details of the natural world, inviting audiences to reconsider their place within Singapore’s urban environment and encouraging a dialogue about coexistence.
Led by the National Gallery Singapore in collaboration with the Asian Civilisations Museum, Esplanade – Theatres on the Bay, Funan, The Arts House, the Singapore Symphony Orchestra and Victoria Theatre and Concert Hall, this district-wide visual arts festival aims to inspire audiences to engage with art in fresh and meaningful ways.
Admission is free, with selected ticketed programmes available.
