Police have located the silver Toyota Camry with the licence plate SGM 14J, which was involved in the suspected double murder of a father and son in Kovan on Wednesday.

The car was found along Block 1084, Eunos Avenue 7.

The Straits Times has also learnt that the father who was killed is Mr Tan Boon Sin, who had a car business that used to be in Eunos Avenue 3.

Mr Tan, who was 67 and not in his 70s as earlier reported, was killed in his home, 14J Hillside Drive, on Wednesday afternoon.

The body of his son, in his 40s, was found dead about 1km away outside the Kovan MRT station. His body had been dragged by a Toyota Camry from Hillside Drive to the station.

The identity of the driver has not been revealed by the police.

An eye-witness living in Hillside Drive told The Straits Times on Thursday morning that he had heard shouting and moans from the house on Wednesday.

When he checked, he saw the son staggering out and collapsing near the house gate. He was drenched in blood.

About three minutes later, he heard a car engine start.

"The car was parked head first in the house, then it reversed over the body. I was shocked, I came out to see but it just zoomed off," said the witness.

The witness ran after the car but couldn't catch up. He then called the police.

When the police arrived, they found the elder Mr Tan's body inside.

Family members were at the mortuary in the morning and arrived back home at about 11am, accompanied by police officers.
