Opening funeral rites for victims of the Kovan double murder began on Sunday evening, a few hours after the bodies of Mr Tan Boon Sin, 67, and his son Tan Chee Heong, 42, were collected by their family earlier in the day.

The funeral, held at the Teochew Funeral Parlour along Ubi Road 4, was attended mainly by immediate family members.

The widows of both men who were killed last Wednesday, were also present.

Madam Ong - the elder Mr Tan's wife - let out a loud wail after seeing the bodies of her husband and son.
