Civil servant Chua Jia Ying, 28, whose son is almost five months old, used cloth padding that completely covered the four sides of her son's cot, thinking it would keep the baby safe.
When she read that the padding could potentially suffocate an infant if the baby presses his face into it, she replaced them with individual wraps for the crib slats.
