A joint operational exercise will be conducted by the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF), the Singapore Police Force and the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority of Singapore at Woodlands Train Checkpoint, 11 Woodlands Crossing on Jan 17.

In a statement on Thursday, the SCDF advised the public not to be alarmed. They said the exercise, which will begin at 12.30am and end at about 3am, is part of ongoing efforts by the various agencies to update their operational plans and procedures.

About 80 personnel and 11 emergency and supporting vehicles will be taking part in the exercise on Friday morning.

Train services and checkpoint functions will not be affected, and all operational vehicles taking part in the exercise will have their beacon lights turned on to alert motorists. There will also be signs placed in the vicinity to inform members of the public about the exercise.
