After several fits and starts, the highly-anticipated Jem mall in Jurong East is finally opening on Saturday.
Announcing this in a statement to the media on Thursday, Jem's development director Chris Brown said: "We are pleased to inform you that Jem will be opening at 10am on Saturday."
The 241-store mall did not open as scheduled on Tuesday as not all of its units had been issued with the necessary fire permits.
Fire Safety Certificates or Temporary Fire Permits (TFPs) are needed for commercial premises and their individual units to begin operations before full fire certificates are issued.
Jem boasts 59 tenants new to the suburbs, including Swedish fashion brand H&M, lingerie brand Victoria's Secret and Books Kinokuniya.
