ITE students benefit from Nathan fund this year

Some 230 financially needy students from the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) will benefit from the S R Nathan Education Upliftment Fund this year.

ITE had received an $820,000 boost from the fund last year, and this is expected to help more than 500 ITE students over three years.

Former President S R Nathan also presented an advance copy of his latest book S R Nathan: 50 Stories from My Life to Education Minister Heng Swee Keat at ITE College Central on Friday.

Mr Nathan has agreed to donate over 2,000 copies of the book to the Ministry of Education, to be placed in schools across Singapore.
