A 45-year-old man was arrested yesterday for allegedly trying to enter Singapore illegally through Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve.
The Police Coast Guard detected suspicious activities in the waters off Sungei Buloh just after 5am.
A search resulted in the arrest of the man, whose nationality is not known, and the operation ended at 12.15pm.
The reserve near Kranji was closed temporarily during the search, and The Sunday Times understands that its staff helped the police.
By about 9am, visitors to the reserve were posting on Facebook to warn others not to visit the place until further notice.
