Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong's wife Ho Ching had her left arm in a sling when she joined him on a visit to Changi Airport on Monday, but that did not stop her from having a good time.

She said she had injured herself while she was on one of her hoverboards three weeks ago. The board "decided to do a spin" just as she was stepping down, she said in a post on her Facebook page on Monday.

The Force from Star Wars was still strong at the airport, where exhibits from the movie series have been on display to mark the opening of the latest movie instalment last year.

As Mr and Mrs Lee rounded up their visit to thank workers, two life-size Stormtroopers and an R2-D2 stood waiting for them.

A delighted Mrs Lee posed for a photograph with a Stormtrooper and posted it on Facebook.

"Playing one-armed trooper with an armed Stormtrooper at Changi Airport this morning," she wrote.

"Must remember to respect temperamental hoverboards!"
