SINGAPORE - Indonesian Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi will be making her introductory visit to Singapore on Wednesday.
Appointed last month by President Joko Widodo, the former ambassador to the Netherlands is Indonesia's first woman foreign minister.
She is one of eight women in Mr Joko's Cabinet.
Minister Retno will meet Minister for Foreign Affairs and Minister for Law K. Shanmugam, and she will pay a courtesy call on Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong later on Wednesday. They will explore "ways to deepen bilateral cooperation between Singapore and Indonesia" and discuss "regional and international developments", Singapore's Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement.
In her first public speech given on Oct 30, Ms Retno vowed to pursue a "down to earth" foreign policy that puts Indonesians first.
