A Singaporean flight instructor who is based in an Indonesian flight training academy has been missing for six days after leaving on a flight on Oct 30.

Mr Lua Boon Huan, 30, was flying from the island of Lombok near Bali, to Moyo Island via Sumbawa island.

Mr Lua was with 26-year-old Indonesian trainee pilot Jati Wikanto. Both men were on a plane owned by flight school Lombok Institute of Flight Techonology, The Jakarta Globe reported. The plane reportedly lost contact at 10.30am on Oct 30.

A search and rescue operation was launched after the airplane was reported missing in Sumbawa at about 2pm on the same day.
