Not all heroes wear capes or brandish medals of honour.

Many ordinary Singaporeans are viewed as heroes - sometimes unknowingly - by others when they perform courageous and selfless acts that leave lasting impact, as seen in the contest entries that readers submitted for two contests that ST ran, leading up to this year's National Day Parade (NDP).
