It raises $61k to buy medical supplies from overseas to send to hospitals in the province

Every Chinese New Year, Hwa Chong Institution student Xi Wang, 19, would fly back to Wuhan for reunion dinner with his family - a feast of traditional dishes like steamed mandarin fish prepared by his mother and grandmother.

"We would all crowd around the TV to watch Chunwan (CCTV's Spring Festival Gala), and together usher in the Chinese New Year," he said.
