Hope is fading for the eight missing crewmembers of Guo Liang 677, six days after their barge capsized in Singapore waters.

One body was recovered on Sunday by divers. The owners of the ship, Johor-based Gold Stone Marine, have made arrangements to send the body to Malaysia.

The barge capsized on July 24 in Singapore waters about seven nautical miles north of Horsburgh Lighthouse, and two of its crew were rescued.

As of 6pm on Monday, search and rescue operations have involved a total of two Super Puma helicopters and two Fokker-50 Maritime Patrol Aircraft from the air force, six patrol vessels from the navy, six Police Coast Guard patrol craft, divers, three diving support vessels and 180 passing commercial vessels.
