SINGAPORE - Take the first look at this year's National Day Parade (NDP) fireworks, in official photographs released on Facebook on Saturday (June 23).
In a Facebook post, the official page for NDP posted photographs showcasing what the fireworks on Aug 9 would look like.
The long-exposure photographs showed red bursts of light in one display, and a colourful burst of fireworks in another photograph.
The post also included behind-the-scene photographs, showing a team working to prepare the fireworks display.
The theme for this year's NDP is We Are Singapore, to capture the unity of Singaporeans. The theme song is a modern take on the 1987 classic, with a fresh rendition by local singer Charlie Lim, who rewrote some verses of the song.
This year's parade will be held at the floating platform and involve nearly 14,000 participants, volunteers and personnel.
The pre-parade segment will feature naval combat divers parachuting and landing into the waters of Marina Bay for the first time. The Singapore Armed Forces' parachute team, the Red Lions, will also be performing.
