Skin specialist goes the extra mile to ease his patients' woes

Dr Tey Hong Liang has formulated a soothing balm for patients with persistently itchy skin and devoted hours to learn what might prevent someone from perspiring. He is now working on a gentle hand wash tailored for those with itchy skin.

NHG award winner's research has helped to improve patients' quality of life

In his 12 years at the National Skin Centre (NSC), Dr Tey Hong Liang has seen his fair share of patients.

And it was always these people - often with conditions that stopped them from sweating or caused unbearable itching - who spurred him on to do more. He was recently recognised for his efforts.
