There are, on average, about 1,700 inpatients daily at the IMH. About 1,000 of them are long-stay patients.

SINGAPORE - Walking into the newly refurbished day space of a C-class ward at the Institute of Mental Health (IMH) in Buangkok View, one may not realise that it is not air-conditioned.
The large room, where the patients have their meals and spend most of their day, feels relatively cool. It also has a sky terrace.
