Health Ministry unveils Healthy Living Masterplan

By 2020, one in two Singaporeans will have access to at least three healthy living options near their home, office and school, so that they can incorporate healthy living into their everyday routine.

Associate Professor Muhammad Faishal Ibrahim, Parliamentary Secretary for Health, announced the targets of the Healthy Living Masterplan (HLMP) on Wednesday morning.

The other aims: About one million employees will work in a workplace that promotes health, and more than 90 per cent of Singaporean students from pre-schools to junior colleges will be eating healthier meals in their schools.

Speaking at the launch of the HLMP at the Health Promotion Board's auditorium, Prof Faishal said that the masterplan's vision for Singapore in 2020 revolves around the theme - Healthy Living Every Day: Making The Connections.

He explained: "Options to lead a healthy lifestyle will be at the doorstep of every home, office and school so that the individual can embrace healthy living as part of his everyday routine."
