SINGAPORE - About 2.9 million people, or slightly more than 70 per cent of Singaporeans and permanent residents, have Integrated Shield Plans (IP) to cover them for private medical care.

Almost two in three of them have also bought riders to pay all, or a large part, of their portion of medical bills.
