SINGAPORE - Speaker of Parliament Halimah Yacob has alerted her Facebook followers about a fake account set up using her name.

Someone has also tried to scam money from others by using her name, she wrote in a Facebook post on Thursday (Dec 17) evening.

Madam Halimah, who is also a Member of Parliament at Marsiling-Yew Tee GRC, said she will be making a police report.

Facebook has also been notified about the fake account.
