SINGAPORE – Grab users complained of facing difficulties topping up their GrabPay wallets with credit cards on the afternoon of Sept 28 due to technical issues.
The problem lay with one of its third-party payment providers, a Grab spokeswoman said in response to queries.
She said: “Earlier this afternoon, some users encountered issues with card transactions on the Grab app. This was caused by a technical problem with one of our third-party payment providers.”
She added that Grab has implemented a workaround for affected users, and card payment services have been restored.
A few customers took to social media to voice their frustrations.
One Facebook user, for instance, asked why the service was down, prompting Grab to apologise for the inconvenience caused, and suggesting that the user try again later.
There were 90 reports on problems with Grab at 1.42pm on Downdetector, a site which monitors and tracks online outages in real time.
