SINGAPORE – Grab users here can now buy eSIMs, unlock shared bicycles or book a bus ride to Malaysia through the Grab app, and earn GrabRewards Points through such transactions.
The platform on Oct 22 introduced Partner Apps, which integrates products, services and content from third-party brands within the Grab app, without the need to download additional apps or to sign up for new accounts.
New to the Grab platform through this initiative are telecommunications provider Firsty, bicycle-sharing platform HelloRide, entertainment platform Jolibox, bus ticketing platform redBus and car-sharing platform Drive lah. Grab said it plans to introduce more local and international brands through Partner Apps.
The expanded services are available in Singapore and Malaysia from Oct 22. Grab said Partner Apps will be introduced in other Grab markets over the coming months.
Users can access these new services via the Partners section on the homepage of the Grab app. GrabPay may be used to pay for the partners’ services.
Other payment methods such as credit and debit cards or PayLater will be available in the coming months, according to Grab.
The third-party services will cost the same as those booked or purchased directly via the providers’ own channels.
