The Straits Times (ST) All-Digital Package is being offered at a promotional price of just 99 cents a month for the first three months, and comes with a host of benefits.
The package, part of ST's latest subscription drive, offers unlimited access to online news articles, a seven-day news archive and the ST e-paper. These can be accessed on both the iOS and Android platforms.
Subscription will cost 99 cents a month for the first three months and $29.90 a month for the next nine months.
After a year, the usual rate of $34.90 a month will apply.
The promotion comes with a one-year subscription to Microsoft Office 365 Personal worth $108, and also includes 1TB of OneDrive cloud storage and 60 minutes of call time on Skype a month.
As a bonus, subscribers will get a $100 discount on the $698 Samsung Galaxy Tab S2, with a complimentary 128GB microSD card worth $98.
The promotion will be available to new subscribers and vendor subscribers until July 6.
Mr Warren Fernandez, ST editor and editor-in-chief of Singapore Press Holdings' (SPH) English/ Malay/Tamil Media Group, said: "Our aim is to serve our readers' needs for news and analysis on what is going on around the world, across platforms, any time, anywhere and any way they want it.
"We want to offer our readers good value through our various subscription packages and promotions as well."
The Business Times is set to follow suit with a similar subscription plan in conjunction with StarHub next week.
Mr Eric Ng, head of circulation marketing at SPH, believes that ST's new subscription plan will be especially attractive to younger readers.
"While the format by which we read the news may change, The Straits Times has been a trusted news source for 172 years and will continue to be so," he added.
Readers who prefer not to commit to a year-long contract can enjoy ST All-Digital at the promotional price but will not receive the Microsoft Office 365 Personal. For more information, visit stsub.sg/365.
