Generation Grit: Forgiving her loved ones has freed her to help others build strong family ties

Ms Delia Ng, 29, grew up without a father, finding out later that he had left the family soon after she was born. When she was 15, they met and she began a journey of forgiveness and reconciliation.

A difficult childhood resulted in Ms Delia Ng having a strained relationship with her family, but she is now working to help youth build strong family bonds. This is her story in the Generation Grit series on inspiring millennials.

SINGAPORE - Growing up, Ms Delia Ng did not believe in marriage and families, but the 29-year-old now spends her days helping youth build stronger bonds with their kin.

Her life early on was fraught with anger, bitterness and tension.
