Four charged with New Year's Day Jurong Lake murder

Four Indian nationals were charged in court on Thursday with the murder of a fellow countryman while being members of an unlawful assembly.

Ramasami Rabinhood, 25, Raja Arul, 22, Bose Muruganandham, 32, and Palanisamy Vijayakumar, 26, are alleged to have been with several others when one or more of them in the group committed murder by causing the death of Mr Boobalan Palanikumar, 28.

The alleged offence took place near Jurong Lake Park at Chinese Garden Road on New Year's Day. Mr Palanikumar was one of the few men found injured at the scene. He died in hospital the next day.

All four were in remand at Central Police Division for investigations. They will appear in court again on Jan 10.

If convicted of the capital charge, they will be sentenced to death.
