Four arrested and drugs worth more than $300,000 seized

Two drug busts on Monday in Sungei Kadut and Beach Road saw a total of 2.1kg of heroin, 1kg of Ketamine and other drugs seized together with the arrest of four men.

In the first bust, a 45-year-old Malaysian driving a lorry in the Sungei Kadut vicinity was arrested soon along with his two Singaporean male passengers aged 44 and 49. The driver had picked up and dropped off his passengers at a bus stop, where they were promptly arrested. One of the two had about 470g of heroin on him. Another 1.64kg of heroin and S$6,350 were seized from the lorry. Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB) officers then arrested the driver.

In a separate operation on the same day, CNB officers arrested a 49-year-old male at a shophouse along Beach Road. A search of the shophouse unit yielded about 50g of 'Ice', 1kg of Ketamine, 3,545 Erimin-5 tablets, 152 Ecstasy tablets, $9,119 in cash and other drug-related items.

These were seized from at least six different hiding spots in the shophouse including inside an air-con pipe and in the gap between the water pipe and the wall. In total, the drugs seized had a street value of more than $300,000. All four are being investigated for drug trafficking.
