Former Asian Wall Street Journal editor and an Institute of Southeast Asian Studies (ISEAS) writer-in-residence Barry Wain died Tuesday morning at the age of 69. Mr Wain, an Australian journalist, lived in Asia for nearly 40 years.
He authored the bestselling book Malaysian Maverick: Mahathir Mohamad in Turbulent Times, and The Refused, an account of the refugee outflow from Indochina after the Vietnam War.
Mr Wain was also a regular contributor to The Straits Times. He leaves behind his wife, Yvonne Wain and son, David Wain.
