SINGAPORE -Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr Vivian Balakrishnan is attending an informal ministerial meeting on climate change in Paris from Sunday till Tuesday (Nov 8 to 10).
The meeting in the French capital is being held in preparation for a United Nations convention to discuss a new global climate ageement.
The official conference, Conference of Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP-21), will be held in Le Bourget, France from Nov 30 to Dec 11.
Among the other outcomes expected at COP-21 is a new global climate agreement which will succeed the Kyoto Protocol after 2020.
Minister Balakrishnan will be accompanied by officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.
