On Hello Kitty's 40th anniversary, SingPost is giving merchandise collectors of the popular cartoon cat another reason to cheer.

From April, the postal service provider will be rolling out five limited edition sets of Hello Kitty souvenir stamp sheets and collectibles, such as umbrellas and tote bags, under MyStamp, its brand for souvenir and customised stamps.

In a statement on Sunday, SingPost said that the sets will be rolled out progressively over the course of the year and will "showcase the evolution of Hello Kitty".

The first two sets, called the Hello Kitty Limited Edition MyStamp Book and Hello Kitty Singapore MyStamp Folder sets, will be available for purchase from April 16 at $69.90 and $18 respectively.

The book set, which is the signature product of the SingPost X Hello Kitty 40th Anniversary Collection, includes an eight-page book containing Hello Kitty souvenir stamp sheets and a tote bag. The folder set includes a printed Hello Kitty-themed souvenir sheet and a lanyard.

The remaining three folder sets - Hello Kitty Classic, Hello Kitty Love and Friendship, and Hello Kitty's 40th Anniversary Celebration - will be rolled out in June, August and October respectively. Aside from the souvenir stamp sheets, these sets will also include a brooch, an umbrella, as well as a travel bag and a lanyard respectively.

The 40th Anniversary Celebration set will cost $38, while the other two will cost $28 each.

Collectors can opt to purchase the MyStamp sets separately or as a bundle of five at $181.90.

Those who pre-order all five sets at the post office or online at www.stampdelight.com between March 10 and 31 can enjoy an early bird promotion rate of $148. They will also receive an additional Hello Kitty lanyard.

Those who miss the early bird promotion, but still make the purchase between April 1 and Oct 31, will enjoy a discounted rate of $155.
