SINGAPORE - An accident involving two cars and four motorcycles on Thursday (April 6) evening caused a traffic jam on the Ayer Rajah Expressway (AYE) that lasted for hours.

Police said that two cars and four motorcycles were in the accident at the Lower Delta Exit on the AYE towards Tuas.

The Singapore Civil Defence Force said that five people were sent to the National University Hospital with minor injuries.

It is understood that the five are the motorcyclists and one pillion rider.

The Straits Times understands that one of the cars caused a collision between multiple motorcycles when changing lanes. One of the motorcycles then hit a second car.

Congestion in the area started from about 7.45pm till after 9pm, according to the Land Transport Authority Twitter alerts.

Police investigations are going.
