Fire broke out in Ghim Moh road flat; no one injured

SINGAPORE - A fire broke out in a unit at Block 8, Ghim Moh road, on Wednesday.

The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said that it was alerted to the fire on the seventh floor at 7.52pm and deployed two fire bikes, two fire engines, one Red Rhino and one ambulance to the scene. Firefighters brought the fire under control in less than 15 minutes. No one was at home, and there was no injury.

As a precaution, residents from the fifth to 17th floor were evacuated by police and SCDF officers.

The fire was believed to have started from the bedroom, but its cause is unknown. Investigations are ongoing.
