SINGAPORE - A fire broke out in the Jungle Tandoor Restaurant along Serangoon Road on Monday (Aug 17) morning.

Twitter user Pretiv (@vayathu23) tweeted a six-second video of the blaze at 10.19am, which showed thick black smoke billowing out from the shop.

The fire was believed to have been caused by contents stored in the restaurant, and affected its kitchen and second-floor rooftop garden.

The Singapore Civil Defence Force said 13 people - three from the restaurant and 10 in a neighbouring unit - were evacuated, while two water jets were used to put out the fire.

It sent two fire engines, a red rhino and a support vehicle to the scene at 10.10am.

An ambulance was also dispatched but no injuries were reported.
