SINGAPORE - A fire broke out in a housing block unit at Ang Mo Kio Avenue 10 on Thursday evening.
The Singapore Civil Defence Force said it received a call at 6.08pm about the fire on the 5th floor at Block 541.
It deployed one fire engine, a Red Rhino, two fire bikes and two support vehicles to the scene.
The Straits Times understands that the fire started at the prayer altar in the flat's living room while no one was at home.
Fire fighters put out the fire using a water jet.
A woman in her 30s who lived a floor above suffered smoke inhalation and was sent to the Singapore General Hospital.
Investigations are ongoing.
