Fire breaks out at Yishun Ring Road flat

SINGAPORE - A fire broke out in an eighth floor Housing Board flat on Yishun Ring Road on Saturday morning.

The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said it received a call about the incident at around 11.20am.

Firefighters forced entry into the flat at Block 619 Yishun Ring Road to put out the fire. No one was in the unit at the time.

The fire involved contents of bedroom, and affected area was 3m by 2m, SCDF said.

The Straits Times understands that an altar had caught fire.

SCDF sent two fire engines, one red rhino, two fire bikes and one supporting vehicle to the scene.

No one was injured and the cause of fire is under investigation.
