A man died after apparently losing control of his motorcycle and hitting his head against a lamp post on Tuesday morning along Braddell Road.

Police received a call at 7.49am.

About five people stopped to help and one attempted cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) on the man. Two of the four lanes along the stretch were closed off.

Two family members arrived at about 9am and were in a state of shock. One of them chased photographers away, saying that the victim was his brother.

"There was a loud sound before I turned around and saw the guy skid to the left," said security guard R. Thandramogan, 63, who was directing cars into the nearby Singapore Press Holdings building when the accident happened.
