Football fans who have signed up for English Premier League (EPL) packages by the 4pm deadline on Thursday afternoon will be able to catch the first match of the season this Saturday, said SingTel and StarHub.

In an update, SingTel said it has submitted all EPL orders to StarHub by 7pm on Thursday - the deadline that StarHub had earlier set for SingTel to hand over orders so that it could fulfil them.

SingTel on Tuesday had set the cut-off time at 4pm on Thursday for fans to sign up. Those who want to catch the matches on StarHub must put in an order and make payment to SingTel by the same time.

In a statement, StarHub's head of home solutions Ms Lin Shu Fen said it has received "a bulk of cross-carriage provisioning orders from SingTel and our focus now is to process these orders".

"The response has been within our expectations," she added, without specifying how many EPL orders from SingTel they had received in total.

Ms Lin also said customers can still sign up with SingTel to watch the EPL cross-carried on StarHub, adding that "we will still do our utmost to process the orders within the provisioning timeframe of up to five working days once we have received them from SingTel".
