SINGAPORE - The second half of this month could experience fewer days of rain as compared to the first half, with short-duration thundery showers expected on three to five days in the afternoon.

Thundery showers with gusty winds are also expected on a couple of days, mostly in the morning and before dawn, the National Environment Agency (NEA) said in an advisory on Tuesday.

Some days will also see maximum day-time temperatures of 34 deg C and warm nights can be expected.

The NEA also forecasts slightly hazy conditions on some days, particularly in the early morning, due to the accumulation of particulate matter under light wind conditions.

Overall, rainfall for the month is likely to be below normal, the agency said.

Between June 1 and 15, rainfall was above average in the western parts of Singapore, and below average in the central and eastern parts of the island, it said.

During this period, the highest total rainfall of 68.4mm was recorded on June 8 over Jurong, it said.
