The developing world may bear the brunt of a multitude of challenges, but it is the responsibility of the global community to help them solve these problems, Deputy Prime Minister Tharman Shanmugaratnam said yesterday.
Speaking at the opening of three sustainability events, he highlighted the importance of innovation in solving these challenges. Singapore, for example, is trying to overcome land and natural resource constraints by planning a plant in Tuas that combines waste management and used water treatment.
