More than 22,000kg of dead fish collected from four beaches

SINGAPORE - More than 22,000kg of dead fish have been collected from beaches at Pasir Ris, Punggol, Changi and Ubin.

The National Environment Agency (NEA) said on its website on Thursday that it had been notified of dead fish along the shores of Pasir Ris beach late last month.

It activated its service providers between Feb 28 to Mar 2 to clean up all four beaches after more reports came in.

The NEA said it would "continue to monitor the situation and will conduct any further clean-up at the beaches if necessary".

It added that its latest round of water sampling for the Pasir Ris, Changi and Punggol beaches showed that water quality was within recreational water guidelines.
