Flood risk rises after thunderstorms on Sunday evening

SINGAPORE - Several areas in Singapore are in danger of flooding after heavy rainfall on Sunday afternoon.

Areas where water levels are close to 90 per cent include Cambridge Road, Lor Buangkok, and Seletar Road, national water agency PUB tweeted in the evening.

A video posted online showed rainwater cascading from drains in Ang Mo Kio.

The National Environment Agency (NEA) warned that heavy thundery showers were expected over many areas of Singapore between 4.50pm and 5.40pm.

Other parts of the island were also affected, as seen in videos and photos of the pouring rain making their rounds online.
