SINGAPORE - Better air quality continues into Tuesday morning although slight haze may be expected during the day.

The three-hour Pollutant Standards Index (PSI), a measure of air quality here, was 65 at 7am. The 24-hour PSI is in the range of 66 to 79.

The National Environment Agency said that prevailing winds are forecast to be light and variable in direction. Thundery showers are expected for Singapore in the afternoon.

The overall air quality is expected to be in the high-end of the moderate range but may enter the low end of the unhealthy range from time to time should the winds turn unfavourable.

Air quality is considered unhealthy when PSI readings range from 101 to 200. Prolonged or strenuous outdoor physical exertion should then be reduced or avoided under such circumstances.
