SINGAPORE - An elderly Chinese woman was killed on Wednesday morning when she was run over by a school bus.
The victim, identified as Madam Ching Guan Eng, 86, collected cardboard around the Marsiling Lane area and sold them off to a recycling centre.
The incident happened at Blk 18 Marsiling Lane. She was on her way to sell her cardboard when she was struck by the bus.
The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) received a call at 8.45am about a woman trapped under a 40-seater bus. Officers had to use hydraulic rescue equipment to release her. Madam Ching was pronounced dead on scene by SCDF paramedics.
