Elderly and special needs children receive the Singapore Girl treatment, on the ground

Instead of serving passengers on a plane, cabin crew from Singapore Airlines with some of their ground counterparts attended to 360 special needs children and the elderly at a carnival on Saturday morning.

Held at Sentosa, over 130 SIA and Singapore Airport Terminal Services staff volunteered at the Carnival Summer Vacation 2013, where they performed and organised games and activities for the underprivileged.

The beneficiaries include Chaoyang Association for Persons With Special Needs, Henderson Aged Reachout Programme and Children's Cancer Foundation.

Acting senior vice president for cabin crew at SIA Marvin Tan said: "Service excellence is woven into the fabric of our airline. However besides nurturing a passion for service among our cabin crew, we also believe in doing our part to give back to the communities in which we operate."
