Students and staff of the Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD) moved into a new permanent campus in Somapah Road in Simei earlier this year.

Among the unique features are four ancient Chinese timber structures presented by Hong Kong movie star Jackie Chan.

The two antique houses, pavilion and Chinese opera stage from the Ming and Qing dynasties have been restored to their original glory by a team of craftsmen from Suzhou, China, and are used as teaching or recreational spaces.
