Pioneer VJC students reunite to celebrate their 50th birthdays

The team who took part in the lion dance performance yesterday comprised Mr Tang Kah Heong, 50, and Mr Leong Kwok Khuen, 51; gong player Jin Chong, 50; drummer Wong Kum Hong, 50; as well as cymbalists Pang Kong Eng, 50, and Govind Kanna, 15, who is the son of a former student. Mr Leong Kwok Khuen started the lion dance troupe in Victoria Junior College (VJC) as a 17-year-old back in 1984.

He and a few schoolmates returned to their old stomping ground yesterday once more, executing stunts in the school hall and eliciting gasps of excitement from their former peers.
